Where in the World: Cozy Capital II – Ottawa
As mentioned in a previous post I went on a random roadtrip to Ottawa with my girlfriend Jessie (the character shown above – in all of her shaded, patriotic glory). We had a blast rediscovering our Nation’s capital. Check out the pictures as well as some recommendations of what to see and do below.
There are a slew of old historic buildings in Ottawa. Parliament Hill is one of my favourite places in Canada. It’s great that our Country has enough freedom that you can walk right up to the building.
True North Strong and Free.
We did a solid 12 kilometre run around Ottawa along the canal. I always enjoy running in different cities because it gets you out and active but you can stop at a moments notice to check something out.
It was also a great way to see the colours.
The Rideau Canal.
I love playing with statues.
A spot of tea with the women on Parliament Hill.
For an afternoon activity we ventured off to Quebec to go for a hike in the Gatineaus. I highly recommend these hikes.
The views are spectacular and you can venture off to explore at anytime.
We had some soup at a peaceful cafe in the village of Old Chelsea on our way out.
A trip is not complete without amazing food.
Brunch is the best.
